What is the effect of giving a certificate of review status of a judgment when it can never be enforced?

Alberta, Canada

The following excerpt is from Shreem Holdings Inc. v. Barr Picard, 2013 ABQB 257 (CanLII):

No purpose is served by giving a certificate of review the status of a judgment when it can never be enforced. That is the sole rationale of rule 10.20(1). See Griffith v. Hughes, 153 E.R. 1418 (Ex. 1847).
