If a contract is partly written and partly oral, can the parol evidence rule apply?

British Columbia, Canada

The following excerpt is from Felger v Banov, 2021 BCSC 1592 (CanLII):

If a contract is partly oral and partly written, the oral and written parts must be considered together and interpreted as one inclusive contract. If a contract is partly oral then the problem of the parol evidence rule does not arise because it is not applicable: King v. Operating Engineers Training, 2011 MBCA 80 at paras. 38 and 39.
