The following excerpt is from Avco Financial Services Realty Limited v. Gustafson, 1977 CanLII 342 (BC SC):
In England the practice appears to be to fix the last redemption day only as the time when, and a certain room as the place where, what is certified to be due shall be paid off. An order made in that form does not permit the mortgagor to redeem on an earlier day on payment of principal with interest up to the time of payment only: Hill v. Rowlands, [1897] 2 Ch. 361.
