The issue of the powers of the Registrar was canvassed in Larson v. Larson, [1993] B.C.J. No. 661 (S.C.). Huddart J. (as she then was) noted that in practice litigants face significant difficulties in varying the recommendations of the Registrar if the recommendations are within the confines of the enquiry, reasonable and not in error. A registrar can make findings of credibility. However, the report is evidence only and does not bind the court. (p. 18)
