The defendant raises the issue of whether the plaintiff’s injuries as claimed are consistent with a collision with little damage. It is not disputed that the collision was relatively insignificant. I agree with the defendant that the severity of the impact is relevant, however the amount of damage to a vehicle or severity of the impact is not determinative of the extent of the injuries sustained, or their continuing nature: Sahota v. Slupskyy, 2019 BCSC 2215 at para. 103, citing Greenway-Brown v. MacKenzie, 2019 BCCA 137 at para. 26. Whether and to what extent an injury is sustained is determined on the whole of the evidence.
