What is the impact of a motor vehicle accident on a plaintiff's ability to do her work?

British Columbia, Canada

The following excerpt is from Hoff v. Joncas, 1996 CanLII 495 (BC SC):

39. I will not repeat what I have said. I simply add to it that I find that the plaintiff's ability to not just be present, but to work productively is now, and will remain, roughly 50 per cent of what it would be absent the motor vehicle accident. I find that that will be her lot in life. I do not see a significant increase in her capacity for productive work as being a "substantial possibility" for the purposes of "simple probability" analysis, i.e., Steenblok v. Funk supra.
