In a personal injury action against a co-respondent, what is the test for damages?

Saskatchewan, Canada

The following excerpt is from Haynes v. Haynes, 1926 CanLII 195 (SK QB):

But although I have to decide the foregoing points against the co-respondent he has still submitted that I must not condemn him in damages unless satisfied that the plaintiff has suffered actual loss or injury. According to the authority of Butterworth v. Butterworth, supra, upon which he relies, the matters to be considered in deciding this question of damages are mainly two, as follows (see p. 142): First, the actual value of the wife to the husband; secondly, the proper compensation of the husband for the injury to his feelings, the blow to his marital honour and the serious hurt to his matrimonial and family life.
