Is a Defendant’s application to reduce the amount paid out on a judgment against them moot and should be dismissed?

British Columbia, Canada

The following excerpt is from Sangha v Inverter Technologies Ltd., 2019 BCSC 1174 (CanLII):

The plaintiff says that since the defendants have already made payment on the judgment, the defendant’s application to reduce the amount below what has already been paid out is moot and should be dismissed, relying on Olson v. Farran, 2016 BCSC 2149 [Olson] at para. 40-42. I do not accept that submission for a number of reasons.
