The following excerpt is from Godfrey et al v. Bird et al, 2006 BCSC 1272 (CanLII):

The allowance for the majority of disbursements is shown in the Bird Bill. The photocopying charge has been reduced substantially. While it may be good practice to forward correspondence and documentation to each of the petitioners, it is not necessary or proper for the conduct of the litigation and thus should not be an expense borne by the respondents. The fixing of a reasonable amount for photocopying is a “rough and ready exercise” as the registrar should not be expected to engage in a “forensic accounting” of this charge: Sovani v. Jin 2006 BCSC 855.
