I hasten to point out that this case was decided before the promulgation of the Reform Act where a whole new concept was triggered. Indeed, R.E. Holland J. in Fenn v. City of Peterborough et al., supra, seemed to assess damages, inter alia, on the basis of companionship. And, again, this was prior to the Reform Act.
