In Bluebird Cabs v. Guardian Insurance Co. of Canada, 1999 BCCA 195, Lambert J.A. explained the nature of vicarious liability at ¶13: It is not the act of the wrongdoer which is attributed to the employer, nor is it the fault or blame of the wrongdoer which is attributed. It is the victim's remedy against the wrongdoer, namely liability for the wrong, which is attributed.
