British Columbia, Canada

The following excerpt is from Hopson v Hannon, 2020 BCSC 794 (CanLII):

The “most recent common habitual residence” is the place the spouses most recently lived together, in a marriage-like relationship, and participated together in everyday family life: Jiang v. Shi, 2017 BCCA 276 at para. 54. In other words, it is the place the spouses most recently made their home together as spouses.
