The matter of discount rates is an issue of fact to be determined by the trial judge. Lewis v. Todd, 1980 CanLII 20 (SCC), [1980] 2 S.C.R. 694; 34 N.R. 1; 115 D.L.R.(3d) 257; 14 C.C.L.T. 294. Further, by that decision, if the figures lead to an award, which in all the circumstances seems to be inordinately high, it is my duty to adjust those figures downward. In a like manner, I am to adjust them upward if they lead to what seems to be an unusually low award.
