In Ladouceur v. Salter (1876), 6 P.R. 305, Harrison, C.J., said: “There is no strict or definite rule for ascertaining in every case what is residence. In general it may be said that a man’s residence is where his home is - where his family is. The word ‘residence’ may have a different meaning in different statutes .” (emphasis mine).
