The following excerpt is from Schmidt v. AMEC Earth & Environment et al., 2004 BCSC 1012 (CanLII):

The issue of when the substratum of the employment contract disappear was dealt with in Rasanen v. Lisle-Metrix Ltd., [2002] O.J. No. 291 (Sup. Ct.). The plaintiff was hired as a marketing and sales manager in 1985 and terminated in 1994 on six month’s notice in accordance with the provision in the employment contract. The action was brought six years after termination.
