Is a one-time capital gain treated as a factor bearing on a payor's income for support purposes?

British Columbia, Canada

The following excerpt is from Shaw v Kirk, 2019 BCSC 23 (CanLII):

Not every capital gain translates into an increase in Guidelines income. It has been held that whether a one-time capital gain should be treated as a factor bearing on a payor’s income for support purposes will depend on the specific facts of the case: Dunnett v. Dunnett, 2018 BCCA 262. It is not necessary to resolve that question in this case, however.
