What is the difference between allegations of sexual assault and continuing contravention of human rights legislation?

British Columbia, Canada

The following excerpt is from Pulido v. Vincor and Louie, 2005 BCHRT 312 (CanLII):

Similarly in this case, I find that the gaps of 16 and 18 months between the first and second and second and third groups of allegations are too great to allow them to be considered a continuing contravention: see also Mallalieu v. Blue Horizon Hotel and Kynoch, 2004 BCHRT 437 at para. 29, where the same conclusion was reached with respect to allegations with respect to events one year apart. Further, the nature of the interactions in the different groups of allegations is quite different; they are not of the “same character”: see discussion in Rai v. Annacis Auto, 2003 BCHRT 31 at paras. 7-8.
