Is there any evidence that a tongue stud and possible alcohol residue would cause false readings on the intoxilyzer?

Saskatchewan, Canada

The following excerpt is from R. v. Horyn, 2002 SKPC 93 (CanLII):

There was also cross-examination directed at the implication that the tongue stud and possible alcohol residue would cause false readings on the intoxilyzer. No expert evidence was called to establish what, if any, effect this tongue stud and potential alcohol residue would have on the readings. Demonstrating potential inaccuracy is insufficient to raise evidence to the contrary (see R v. Proudlock (1979) 1978 CanLII 162 (SCC), 1 SCR 261 (SCC)).
