What is the current state of the law on disclosure in civil matters?

British Columbia, Canada

The following excerpt is from Kuciuk v. Sechelt (District), 2013 BCSC 528 (CanLII):

It is also clear that the level of disclosure depends upon the circumstances. As noted in Wilde v. Metchosin District and Attorney General for British Columbia, 2005 BCCA 453, at para. 12: There is no statement of the law as to what is required for procedural fairness in every case. In each case, whether the disclosure process employed was fair will depend upon the circumstances of the case: see Eddington v. Surrey, [1985] B.C.J. No. 1925 (B.C.S.C.).
