In my view, the defendants’ authorities represent cases far closer to the facts of this case, as I have found them, than the authorities relied on by the plaintiff. I also recognize that comparable cases offer only a rough guide and a general damage award must be determined on the facts of each case: Trites v. Penner, 2010 BCSC 882 at para. 189.
