What is the test for equal division of spouses in a long-term marriage?

British Columbia, Canada

The following excerpt is from Tsonis v. Tsonis, 1985 CanLII 800 (BC SC):

The criteria which are relevant in the case at bar are (a), (b), (e) and (f). As to (a), the marriage is of considerable duration: 17 years. As to (b), the parties have not been separated so long as to negate the presumption of equal division. These factors favour equal apportionment: see Murchie v. Murchie, supra.
