What are the reasons of an order?

British Columbia, Canada

The following excerpt is from Kanigan v. College of Dental Surgeons of British Columbia, 1998 CanLII 4541 (BC SC):

Where there is some doubt that a court order accurately or fully embodies a judgment the court may look to the reasons, - or evidence of the grounds upon which the order was made - to ascertain its meaning (See: Canadian pacific Railway Company v. Blair (1905) 1905 CanLII 4 (SCC), 36 S.C.R. 159 at 161). Where, as here, there were no reasons as such, but the order was given on the basis of the consent of the other party, I think the terms and limits of that consent may be reviewed.
