What is the test for the authority of a court to appoint a committee to a hospital committee?

British Columbia, Canada

The following excerpt is from Loewe Estate (Re), 2008 BCSC 1663 (CanLII):

The court's discretion to appoint a committee is to be governed by what is in the patient's best interests. If authority for that proposition is required, it can be found, among other places, in the authorities cited at paragraph 11 of Mawdsley v. Austin, [1984] B.C.J. No. 3048 (S.C.).
