Does the court have to pay costs for striking out third party proceedings?

British Columbia, Canada

The following excerpt is from Morton v. Easton, 1997 CanLII 3534 (BC SC):

Similarly, in Liu v. Hansen 38 C.P.C. (3d) 398, the court had further occasion to deal with a similar problem. In that case the chamber's judge had made no specific mention of costs when he granted an application to strike out third party proceedings. In that case, the entered order included a provision in favour of the third party, which was consistent with the principle that costs follow the event.
