What is the test for having an opinion that is subjectively honest?

Ontario, Canada

The following excerpt is from Assessmed Inc. v. Canadian Broadcasting Corp., 2004 CanLII 28479 (ON SC):

In Myers v. C.B.C., Justice Bellamy held that the comments must also be fair. This requires that the opinion expressed not only be subjectively honest, but one that an objectively "fair minded" person "could" honestly hold (see paragraphs 104-109).
