The Court of Appeal considered the issue of retroactive child maintenance again in Macdonald v. Macdonald, 2005 BCCA 23. In that case Lambert J.A. referred to the judgment of Davies J. in S.E.C. v. D.C.G., 2003 BCSC 896, and made the following comment:
