Finally, while it is undoubtedly important to encourage rehabilitation from addictions, this does not render it in the public interest to accept the late-filed complaint. As noted by the Tribunal in Gibson v. Vancouver (City), 2009 BCHRT 151: “[t]he Tribunal receives a significant number of complaints from persons alleging discrimination on the basis of alcoholism and other addictions and therefore has ample opportunity to address these issues” (para. 15)
