What is the standard for further particulars in a medical malpractice claim?

British Columbia, Canada

The following excerpt is from West Moberly First Nations v British Columbia, 2018 BCSC 730 (CanLII):

The plaintiffs argue that it is not enough that further particulars be “helpful” or “of assistance”, but rather that they must be necessary. West Moberly says that “necessary” is a high standard: Hoy v. Medtronic, Inc., 2004 BCSC 440 at para. 25 and British Columbia (Director of Civil Forfeiture) v. Vo, 2012 BCSC 1476 at paras. 30-31.
