Subsection 2(d) of the Charter protects the exercise in association of the constitutional rights and freedoms of individuals. It does not protect an activity solely on the ground that the activity is a foundational or essential purpose of an association, nor does it create a right to do in association what is unlawful for an individual to do: Canadian Egg Marketing Agency v. Richardson, 1997 CanLII 17020 (SCC), [1998] 3 S.C.R. 157.
