What authorities have assessed injuries to a 51 year old woman who, as a result of a motor vehicle accident, sustained moderate whiplash?

British Columbia, Canada

The following excerpt is from Anderson v. Jones, 2003 BCSC 746 (CanLII):

Counsel helpfully provided a number of authorities for me to consider. The cases deal with a range of injuries. In Goertzen v. Ryan 2000 BCSC 1170, Mr. Justice Parrett assessed injuries to a 51 year old plaintiff. He described her injuries as follows: … the plaintiff suffered a moderate whiplash with the majority of symptoms resolving by January 15, 1998, some 7 1/2 months post accident. Thereafter, she had a further flare-up over a period of some four to five months in which her lower back pain again caused her difficulty. Since that time, she is suffered occasional difficulty usually at times of substantial activity. The plaintiff through the period of convalescence was able to maintain her employment, but did so with considerable discomfort. In addition, she paid the penalty primarily by limitations on her home and leisure activities.
