The following excerpt is from R. v. Scory, 1944 CanLII 220 (SK CA):

In a slightly earlier case, Rex v. Voisin [1918] 1 K.B. 531, 87 L.J.K.B. 574, 34 T.L.R. 263, the accused had been requested by the police to go to a police station. He did so There he was questioned about his movements on the night of a murder which was the subject of their investigation. He consequently made a statement in writing. Subsequently he was charged with the murder and at his trial the statement was admitted in evidence against him. He was convicted.
