Under s. 36(1) of the Law and Equity Act, where the vendors do receive notice of the assignment in writing, their consent is not required in order for the assignment to be valid and enforceable: Hanif v. TJM Management Consultants Ltd., 2011 BCSC 521 at para. 31.
