What is the range of general damages awarded in a personal injury case?

British Columbia, Canada

The following excerpt is from Gojevic v. Philpott, 2002 BCCA 483 (CanLII):

The appeal is from the awards for general damages and for lost earning capacity. The essence of the first two grounds of appeal is that the trial judge erred when he awarded pecuniary damages for loss of the “royal jelly” needed to be an entrepreneur without any evidence that attribute had any economic value to the appellant. The appellant considers the award for that loss was included in general damages, as it was in Roberts v. Kidd [1998] B.C.J. No. 1198 (B.C.C.A.) and overvalued in that award.
