What is the current state of the law in the United States with respect to the privacy rights of internet subscribers?

Saskatchewan, Canada

The following excerpt is from R v Trapp, 2011 SKCA 143 (CanLII):

The result in the foregoing cases accords with the American approach to internet subscriber information. A number of cases in the United States including United States v. Perrine, 518 F.3d 1196, 1204-1205 (10th Cir. 2008), United States v. Bynum, 604 F.3d 161, 164-165 (4th Cir. 2010), and United States v. Stults, 575 F.3d 834, 849 (8th Cir. 2009) have concluded that subscriber information given to an internet provider is not protected by the Fourth Amendment’s privacy expectations.
