21. I disagree with the applicants’ suggestion that the fact that the machine needed to be primed supports the conclusion that it was not in proper working order. As noted, the invoice from the repair technician identified the problem as an air lock in the coffee machine. I find that the question of what caused the air lock is outside ordinary knowledge, and must be answered with expert evidence (see Bergen v. Guliker, 2015 BCCA 283).
