It is accepted that “preparation of a budget is not an exact science” Francis v. Baker (1999) 1999 CanLII 659 (SCC), 3 SCR 250 at para. 48. The monthly expenses listed in the adult son’s financial statement do not fully describe all the costs that are incurred to maintain his standard of living. They do not include any housing expenses and health related expenses or all the expenses related to transportation. The adult son’s claimed expenses do not fully take into account the monthly expenses for groceries and household items. Further, they do not include the expenses that benefit the adult son and the daughter which are claimed by the mother in her financial statement.
