The following excerpt is from Jack v. Sidhu et al, 2006 BCSC 1218 (CanLII):

In Taylor v. Paulson, [2005] B.C.J. No. 1937, 2005 BCSC 1249, Truscott J. was dealing with an assault in a hotel which occurred on March 25, 2001. The writ was issued January 13, 2004, some nine and a half months after the expiry of the statutory limitation. Trustcott J. was unwilling to postpone the limitation period in that case.
