Is there any case law that supports the argument that a child is financially dependent on their parent by reason of other cause?

Manitoba, Canada

The following excerpt is from Sidhu v. Sidhu, 2016 MBQB 234 (CanLII):

Absent cogent evidence of the illness or the disability of Sumeet or Prempaul (and there is a deficit of evidence here), an analysis of whether an adult child is unable by reason of “other cause” to withdraw from a parent’s “charge” ought properly to then sharply focus on whether the child remains financially dependent on the parent.
