The following excerpt is from Abelson v. Mitra, 2008 BCSC 1197 (CanLII):
Spousal support will cease thereafter. This support order will be subject to the usual right to review based upon a material change in circumstances. I do not propose to provide for an automatic review, as such are generally to be discouraged unless it is essential to do so. I am of the view that a review upon a material change in circumstances will afford the parties sufficient protection. In that regard, I accept the analysis of Lang J.A. of the Ontario Court of Appeal in Fisher v. Fisher, 2008 ONCA 11 at ¶70-72:
