What is the test for non-compensationary spousal support in a long-term relationship?

Nova Scotia, Canada

The following excerpt is from Armsworthy v Boucher, 2018 NSSC 209 (CanLII):

Despite the short duration of the marriage, I find that in all of the circumstances, this is an appropriate case to order spousal support on a non-compensatory basis. Non-compensatory spousal support focuses on the needs of the spouses and their respective means, as well as the nature and duration of the marital relationship (Bracklow v. Bracklow, 1999 CanLII 715 (SCC), [1999] 1 S.C.R. 420 at para. 53).
