It is not in dispute that a solicitor has a duty to warn a client of any risk involved in any course of action contemplated by the client or by the solicitor, and to exercise reasonable care and skill in advising the client. See Major v. Buchanan et al. (1975), 1975 CanLII 467 (ON SC), 9 O.R. (2d) 491, 61 D.L.R. (3d) 46 at 69.
