What is the range of security for costs in a personal injury action?

Ontario, Canada

The following excerpt is from Panther v. RKR Financing, 2010 ONSC 4225 (CanLII):

Under Rule 56, the case law is clear that once an order is made for security for costs, the court is granted a wide discretion as to the quantum and terms of the order: Hallum v. Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (1989), 70 0.R. (2d) 119 (H.C.) The court must make an order for security for costs that in all of the circumstances is just.
