What is a withdrawal from control in the sense of custody of the correction authorities?

British Columbia, Canada

The following excerpt is from R. v. Sexsmith, 1998 CanLII 68 (BC SC):

In Regina v. Seamore, Martin J.A. refers to "withdrawal from control in the sense of custody of the correction authorities." The examples subsequently given include a failure to remain within an area specified. In my view, the failure to report to the supervisor is a withdrawal from control in the sense of the custody of the supervisor.
