What is the standard of care expected of a prudent real estate agent?

British Columbia, Canada

The following excerpt is from Pasternak v Morden, 2022 BCSC 433 (CanLII):

Expert evidence of the standard of care expected of a prudent real estate agent is not necessary: see also Burbank v. R.T.B., 2007 BCCA 215 (leave to appeal ref’d: [2007] S.C.C.A. No. 315).

A realtor’s negligence alone does not expose that person to liability unless their negligence caused the loss in question: see Alvas v. Barrett, 2018 ABQB 651 at para. 106.
