In Radke v. M.S. (Litigation guardian of), 2007 BCCA 216, a police officer witnessed three people getting into a stolen car. The stolen car drove away under the speed limit and was observed driving through a stop sign without stopping. The officer activated his lights and siren and the stolen car accelerated away, with the officer following. The stolen car sped around a corner, ran through several stop signs and ultimately struck the plaintiff’s vehicle, while travelling at about 70 km/hr.
