In what circumstances will a landowner be required to consult a qualified expert on the safety of his trees?

British Columbia, Canada

The following excerpt is from McNee and McNee v. Northrop, 2004 BCSC 229 (CanLII):

In Quinn v. Scott the court said the following at p. 592: In my opinion, however, there may be circumstances in which it is incumbent on a landowner to call in somebody skilled in forestry to advise him, and I have no doubt but that a landowner on whose land this belt of trees stood, adjoining a busy highway, was under a duty to provide himself with skilled advice about the safety of the trees.
