What is the quantification of loss of weight for the purposes of quantifying loss?

British Columbia, Canada

The following excerpt is from Gregg v Ralen, 2018 BCSC 171 (CanLII):

The quantification of the loss requires consideration of the weight to be given to my assessment of the future hypothetical events, both with and without the accident. Of course, the standard of proof in relation to future events is simple probability; hypothetical events are to be given weight according to their relative likelihood: Athey v. Leonati, 1996 CanLII 183 (SCC), [1996] 3 S.C.R. 458 at para. 27.
