What is the test for meeting the compensatory portion of the spousal support amount?

British Columbia, Canada

The following excerpt is from W.G.P. v. D.F.P., 2015 BCSC 1791 (CanLII):

Given the significant assets that the respondent has been able to not only maintain but also grow since separation, the compensatory portion of the spousal support has been met. This conclusion finds support in the reasons for judgment in Puiu v. Puiu, 2011 BCSC 1791, upheld on appeal, 2011 BCCA 480.
