In order to adjust damages, there must be a real and substantial possibility that that the plaintiff’s pre-existing depression would have led him to leave medical practice as a family doctor earlier than intended, or specifically, before the age of 71: Zacharias v. Leys, 2005 BCCA 560 at para. 16.
