Does a party have an entitlement to a post-separation increase in the value of their property?

British Columbia, Canada

The following excerpt is from Dennis v Gill, 2018 BCSC 1533 (CanLII):

More generally, these provisions provide that the parties should share in post‑separation increases in value of property, independent of the parties' respective contributions to post‑separation increases in the value. Because of s. 81, this entitlement exists independent of the parties' respective contributions to the post‑separation increase in value: Jaszczewska v. Kostanski at para. 39.
